2005-12-09: cookie winners!
I have been dreaming about cookies every night for the past two weeks. I have especially been dreaming about whose were the absolute best of all the fabulous recipes that were entered into the joint SHF-IMBB Cookie Swap. I am very happy it wasn’t up to me to choose the winners for this cookie-contest. I don’t think I could have done it if forced. Everyone’s recipes were just so wonderful, that choosing 12 out of the total 152 recipes (107 participants) that were submitted would have been an impossible task. Thank goodness for the voters!
Some people voted for their favourite recipe, others voted for their top 2, many voted for their beloved 3…and some for their much loved 12 recipes! The polls are now officially closed. I have tallied up all the votes in a very detailed spreadsheet and finally have the results. The votes have been counted and re-counted and counted again, to make sure everything is fair and accounted for.
So, without further ado, and in alphabetical order, here are the winners!
A Blithe Palate – Cath’s Maple Lace Cookies
Chef Girl – Paige’s Gingerbread Shortbread
Chili and Vanilia’s – Zsofi’s Cinnamon and Walnut Linzer Cookies with Orange Curd
Do You Know the Muffin Man – Eric’s Peppermint Shortbread
Food Beam – Fanny’s Chewy Toffee and Milk Chocolate Chip Bites
Kuchenlatein – Ulrike’s Chestnut Cookies
Kuidaore – J’s Hazelnut Sandwich Cookies
Mahanandi – Indira’s Ma’amoul
Masak-Maskak – Boo_Licious’ Peanut Cookies
Meanwhile Back in the Kitchen – Julia’s Amaretti
Music and Cats – Kimberly’s Mexican Chocolate Icebox Cookies
One Hot Stove – Nupur’s Kesar-Pista Nankhatai
I would like to say here that I think everyone who participated deserves to win because everyone’s cookies looked and sounded utterly delicious. If I only had 107 copies of the book…!
A special thank you to the people who voted for Alberto and I; we can’t win the contest (but don’t worry, he and I already have our own copies!). And as well, an honorable mention goes out to Jocelyn of Brownie Points for her Ribbon Cookies which tied with one of the winners, but she also already has a copy of the book.
Winners :
Please be sure to email me your mailing address so that I can have the books sent to you as soon as possible. I hope they will get to you before the New Year, but with the deluge of mail the postal service is seeing this holiday season it might be January before you see yours!
